Supreme Court Seeks Answer for NTA Over Alleged Paper Leak

By Komal, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University Lucknow

The Supreme Court gave notice to the Centre and the National Testing Agency on Tuesday (June 11) regarding a petition seeking to cancel the National Entrance-Eligibility Test (NEET) test held this year for undergraduate (UG) medical courses due to an alleged paper leak.
Shivangi Mishra and nine others filed the petition on June 1, before the results were declared. Following the declaration of the results, a few more applications were submitted to the Supreme Court, disputing the National Testing Agency’s decision to award grace marks to many candidates. However, requests filed after the pronouncement of results were not mentioned today.
It is not that simple that because you have done it is sacrosanct. Sanctity has been affected, so we need answers,” Justice Amanullah told the counsel representing the National Testing Agency. “How much time do you want? Immediately on the re-opening? Otherwise, the counseling will start.” Justice Amanullah told the NTA’s counsel.
